  Christmas Eve someone/something broke our glass entry door. I called the emergency maintenance line and the police. My husband noticed the door when he stepped out and saw it. I understand the next day was Christmas and if the door couldn’t be replaced right that second I can understand. What I have a issue with, is glass was EVERYWHERE. I couldn’t of checked my mailbox if I even wanted to. No one would’ve been able to get into the building safely without getting a shower. And I don’t care for using by back porch due to the riff raff that hangs out (when we first moved in our backyard was surrounded by drug dealers and still sketchy people) So the glass sat there for about 2 days. There are stray animals in the area and any animal could’ve walked in the building and gotten its feet cut up. Any person could’ve entered the building for whatever reason including violence. And guess what? That puts your residents safety at risk. A night or two after the glass was finally picked up somehow my husband found a piece of glass in our bed.... with his toe. Neither of us go outside without shoes and we were persistent on making sure to check clothing to make sure nothing “stuck” to us. I completely understand the door couldn’t be replaced right away, what I don’t understand is why the glass wasn’t at least picked up at a sooner time. That could’ve easily been a lawsuit towards the company. And yes I called the EMERGENCY maintenance line. I would say a glass door shattering and putting the safety of tenants in danger is an emergency. What’s the point of having an emergency line when things are not done in a timely manner? Had the glass at least been picked up in a decent amount of time I wouldn’t make a fuss. But the fact my safety and my neighbors safety was put in danger makes my blood boil. We will be spending our hard earned income elsewhere when our lease is up.
